Mediterraid 2011 – Mediterraneo Digitale
" Due mesi di viaggio, sedici paesi da attraversare per un totale di ventiduemila chilometri: sta per partire la nuova edizione di Mediterraid, viaggio in fuoristrada lungo le coste del Mediterraneo per esplorarne le culture digitali.
Mediterraid 2011:
un'odissea moderna alla ricerca del futuro digitale del mediterraneo:
60 giorni e 22 mila km per navigare nella cultura digitale del mediterraneo.
Dal 1 giugno al 30 luglio 2011, una circumnavigazione del bacino Mediterraneo per mappare culture, linguaggi e tecnologie digitali che riportano nella culla della parola il pensiero contemporaneo.
L'associazione Mediterraid, con la media- partnership di RAI Nuovi Media, del gruppo di telecomunicazioni satellitari EUTELSAT, con la collaborazione dell'Ufficio Informazione delle Nazioni Unite e dell’Università del Molise, realizzerà la quinta edizione di Mediterraid, un viaggio lungo tutte le coste del bacino più solenne del mondo. Numerosi gli obiettivi che la navigazione terrestre nel Mediterraneo si pone.
Innanzitutto la mappatura delle culture e dei linguaggi digitali: come e con quali il Mediterraneo parla in rete? Poi la ricerca di soluzioni ecosostenibili urbane e un curioso censimento degli orti urbani, che ci fanno già intravvedere le città del futuro.
Protagonisti del Mediterraid sono cinque intrepidi viaggiatori a bordo di una jeep che entreranno in contatto con gente comune e responsabili di istituzioni e progetti realizzando video e interviste.
Una moderna odissea alla scoperta della cultura digitale del Mediterraneo, un itinerario on the road attraverso culture, linguaggi e tecnologie digitali, per scoprirne le articolazioni nei diversi paesi. Scopo primario dell’iniziativa è mappare la diffusione delle tecnologie digitali nei paesi del bacino del Mediterraneo, anche e soprattutto alla luce della forza propulsiva che stanno assumendo, negli avvenimenti politici che hanno interessato paesi come Egitto, Libia e Tunisia e in cui un ruolo chiave hanno avuto e hanno tuttora proprio i blogger, che nei social network hanno trovato uno strumento di democrazia.
Questo viaggio in fuoristrada intorno al Mediterraneo ogni giorno produrrà videoclip, blog, chat: una narrazione multimediale che renderà condivisibile l'avventura del suo equipaggio con lo scambio di suggerimenti, segnalazioni, consigli, proposte attraverso il portale Rai, media partner dell’iniziativa. www.mediterraid.rai.it
CHI È MEDITERRAID
Mediterraid è una associazione senza fini di lucro, che dal 2006 compie regolarmente il giro del Mediterraneo via terra in auto per promuovere i rapporti amichevoli tra i Popoli del Mediterraneo, come raccomandato dal preambolo della Dichiarazione Universale dei Diritti Umani delle Nazioni Unite.Mediterraid è una iniziativa che ha lo scopo di promuovere l'interazione dell’Italia con i paesi del Mediterraneo diffondendo i risultati delle ricerche effettuate durante il tour tramite la produzione di documentari televisivi, servizi giornalisti, mostre fotografiche, incontri e conferenze.
COS’È MEDITERRAID
Mediterraid è un tour automobilisticoche si svolge periodicamente e che percorre la linea costiera dell’intero bacino del Mediterraneo e attraversa i paesi che su di esso si affacciano. La conoscenza diretta dei Popoli, dei luoghi e delle realtà sociali è il punto di partenza e l’idea base dell’iniziativa Mediterraid; l’edizione quest’anno è dedicata in particolare alla diffusione di internet nei paesi del Mediterraneo.

NCSE: Nineteenth-Century Serials Edition
The Nineteenth-Century Serials Edition (ncse) is a free, online scholarly edition of six nineteenth-century periodicals and newspapers. It is a collaboration between Birkbeck, University of London, King’s College London (Centre for Computing in the Humanities and the Department of English), the British Library, and Olive Software. It was funded from January 2005 to December 2007 by the Arts and Humanities Research Council."
The Nineteenth-Century Serials Edition (ncse) is a free, online scholarly edition of six nineteenth-century periodicals and newspapers. Both components of the system are fully searchable and include rich, bibliographic metadata attached to titles, volumes, issues, departments and articles within the edition.
ncse includes full runs of the first five titles, and a decade only of the Publishers’ Circular. Titles are represented as completely as possible, including multiple editions, advertisements, wrappers, and supplements where we could find them.

Dagli anni Sessanta del Novecento computer e informatica si sono proposti allo storico quali preziosi strumenti di ricerca, pur ponendo problematiche metodologiche non ancora del tutto superate.
Gli studiosi del settore attraverso pubblicazioni e seminari hanno da allora dato vita a numerose riflessioni, dalle esperienze degli anni Settanta sino agli anni Novanta, anni in cui il mutamento digitale posto dalla Rete ha portato ad interrogarsi sulla compatibilità di Internet con la ricerca storica.
Qualità e volatilità sono oggi alla base dei grandi interrogativi di chi fa ricerca, soprattutto in una disciplina quale è la Storia, che si fonda sull'analisi di fonti e poggia su impalcature storiografiche.

Il patrimonio documentario dell'Archivio Segreto Vaticano suscita un interesse così universale, sia per i documenti che riguardano in genere la storia della civiltà cristiana dal medioevo ai nostri giorni, sia per quelli relativi alla storia delle singole nazioni; anzi per alcuni Paesi i documenti vaticani sono i più antichi, i primi con cui ha inizio la loro stessa storia nazionale.
Attualmente l’Archivio Segreto Vaticano conserva oltre 630 fondi archivistici diversi, per un'estensione di circa 85 chilometri lineari di scaffalatura, coprendo un arco cronologico pressoché continuo di oltre 800 anni di storia.
Il documento più antico risale alla fine del sec. VIII, mentre si conserva una serie pressoché ininterrotta di documentazione a partire dal 1198.
L'Archivio Vaticano serve prima di tutto e principalmente al Romano Pontefice ed alla sua Curia, ossia alla S. Sede, (Motuproprio di Leone XIII del 10 maggio 1884). Nel 1881, per munificenza di Leone XIII, fu aperto alla libera consultazione degli studiosi e divenne così il centro di ricerche storiche più importante del mondo.
